Fireworks Over the Matsuura River with Karatsu Castle in the Background
The Kyushu Fireworks Festival is one of the major autumn events in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture. Fireworks launched from the banks of the Matsuura River illuminate Karatsu Castle and the surface of the river.

A Spectacular Combination of Fireworks, Music and the Wakato Bridge

50th Yamabiko Fireworks Festival｜Nishimera Village, Miyazaki
Feel the Echo of Fireworks Through a Mountain Valley
The Yamabiko Fireworks Festival has been held in Nishimera Village, Miyazaki Prefecture, since 1973. Around 5,000 fireworks are launched from the banks of the Hitotsuse River.
The surrounding mountains create a unique experience: the powerful sound of the fireworks echoes through the valley. The name “Yamabiko,” meaning “echo,” perfectly captures the character of this mountain fireworks festival.

Enjoy Miyazaki's Local Food and a Spectacular Fireworks Display
The Miyakonojo Fireworks Festival takes place at Kannonoike Park in Miyakonojo, Miyazaki Prefecture. True to Miyakonojo's reputation as the “home of meat and shochu,” the event combines fireworks with the region's food culture.
During the day, visitors can enjoy the Yakiniku Carnival featuring Miyazaki-produced meat. After sunset, approximately 12,900 fireworks light up the night sky.

10,000 Fireworks Over the Sea with Sakurajima in the Distance

13th Kyushu No. 1 Grand Fireworks Festival｜Sasebo, Nagasaki
22,000 Fireworks Above a European-Style Illuminated Town
The Kyushu No. 1 Grand Fireworks Festival is held at Huis Ten Bosch in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture. Fireworks light up the sky above the park's illuminated European-style streets, creating a spectacular combination of architecture, lights, and fireworks.
Around 22,000 fireworks are scheduled, including a large shell approximately 300 meters in diameter. The finale features 5,000 fireworks launched during the final five minutes, creating an especially dramatic finish.
Special viewing areas are available, including a panoramic venue and the Water Garden venue. Since a separate admission ticket to Huis Ten Bosch is required, visitors can also enjoy the park's attractions and illuminations before the fireworks.

The Tamana Fireworks Festival takes place around Takase Ohashi Bridge on the Kikuchi River in Tamana, Kumamoto Prefecture. In 2026, the festival will be held under the theme “Let's Support Each Other, Kumamoto,” expressing support for recovery and reconstruction efforts in the region.
