初代福岡藩主・黒田長政の大きな水牛の角をかたどった兜と、長槍をシルエット画にデザインしました。

アメリカンテイストなフォルムがかわいい6パネルキャップ。背面の金属クリップアジャスターでサイズ調整できます。

黒田 長政は、安土桃山時代から江戸時代前期にかけての武将で、筑前国福岡藩初代藩主です。 大河ドラマの題材になった、戦国武将・黒田官兵衛の嫡男であり、九州平定、文禄・慶長の役で活躍しました。特に関ヶ原の戦いでは徳川率いる東軍につき、一番の功労者として称えられ、徳川家康より筑前国名島に52万3千余石の封を受け、福岡藩を立藩し初代藩主となりました。

本デザインで参考にした、黒漆塗桃形大水牛脇立兜（こくしつぬりももなりおおすいぎゅうわきだてかぶと）は、16世紀の安土桃山時代に作られたもので、国指定の重要文化財として、百道の福岡市博物館に保管されています。

黒田長政が所用した「黒漆塗桃形大水牛脇立兜」は2種類存在し、大きな角が関ヶ原合戦など、数多の合戦で武名をとどろかせた長政の勇猛果敢ぶりを見事に伝えています。

Nagamasa Kuroda Cap

This 6-panel cap features a stylish silhouette design of the iconic "Great Water Buffalo Horn" helmet and long spear belonging to Kuroda Nagamasa, the first lord of the Fukuoka Domain. With its classic American-style form and a convenient metal clip adjuster at the back, it offers both a cute aesthetic and a perfect fit.

About Kuroda Nagamasa

Kuroda Nagamasa was a prominent daimyo who lived through the Azuchi-Momoyama and early Edo periods. As the eldest son of the legendary strategist Kuroda Kanbe’e (the subject of a popular NHK Taiga drama), Nagamasa distinguished himself in various campaigns, including the pacification of Kyushu and the Korean campaigns.

His most famous contribution came during the Battle of Sekigahara, where he fought for Tokugawa Ieyasu’s Eastern Army. Hailed as the most meritorious commander of the battle, he was rewarded with a massive fief of 523,000 koku in Chikuzen Province. There, he founded the Fukuoka Domain and became its very first lord.

The Design Inspiration

The silhouette is based on the "Black Lacquered Peach-Shaped Helmet with Great Water Buffalo Horn Sides" (Kokushitsu-nuri Momonari O-suigyu Wakidate Kabuto).

• Location: Currently preserved at the Fukuoka City Museum in Momochi.

There are two known versions of this specific helmet used by Nagamasa. The massive, imposing horns serve as a lasting testament to his bravery and the military fame he garnered across countless battlefields.
