藍の器に宿る、青の虎。

江戸時代、佐賀・有田の窯元で生まれた「染付」は、白磁に藍一色で絵付けを施す伝統技法。その繊細で品格ある青の世界に、もし“虎”が描かれていたら──。

佐賀の伝統工芸、有田焼の染付をイメージして、スカジャン風刺繍をデザインした、スーベニアTシャツ。

有田焼の美を現代に映す一枚。
勇ましさの中に静けさを湛えた「青の虎」が、
佐賀の美意識と誇りをさりげなく伝えます。

有田焼の特徴的な青い絵付けは、「染付（そめつけ）」と呼ばれ、これは呉須（ごす）という青い顔料を使って白磁に絵付けし、釉薬（うわぐすり）をかけてから高温で焼き上げる技法です。

深く落ち着いた藍色〜青色が魅力で、絵がうわぐすりの下に沈んで見え、やわらかくにじんだ風合いになります。染め付けで書かれた虎が、白虎のように見えることをヒントにデザインしました。

白虎（びゃっこ）とは、東洋思想・神話に基づく概念で、青龍・朱雀・玄武と並ぶ四神のひとつです。

虎は中国では魔除けの意味を持つ神聖な動物として古くから描かれ、日本においても勇猛な姿は武家に好まれ、雲を呼ぶ龍とともに屏風絵や襖絵のほか、陶磁器にも多用されてきました。

「虎は千里往って千里還る」という言葉からも、颯爽と走る姿が風の象徴とされ、ゆえに同じく風の象徴とされる竹と組み合わされて視覚的なモチーフにされてきました。背面デザインなし。
