商品紹介
The cross-shaped family crest of the Shimazu clan of the Satsuma domain is said to have originated from the cross crest bestowed by Minamoto no Yoritomo to Shimazu Tadahisa (the first head of the Shimazu clan) during the Kamakura period.
Shimazu Tadahisa is said to be the illegitimate son of Minamoto no Yoritomo, and his family crest was considered an honorable one that originated from that. Some people think that the cross shape is a reference to "the connection with Christianity," but this is thought to be a later association given the era.
In fact, the cross was widely used by samurai as a symbol representing the four directions, north, south, east, and west, and the harmony of heaven and earth, and is considered a family crest that conveys messages such as sincerity and loyalty, consistency and simplicity, and the Satsuma spirit.
In addition, given the history and culture of Kagoshima Prefecture, themes such as rebellious spirit, diversity, independence, and pacifism are strongly linked to the area. Interpreting these in a modern social context, we designed messages of anti-authority, anti-establishment, acceptance of diversity, anti-war, and pacifism.
