The mother mountain of Saga Prefecture, "Tensan," is depicted in silhouette as seen from the Saga City side. Hot air balloons floating in the beautiful morning glow are a special sight that can be seen not only at the Autumn Balloon Festival, but also in everyday life.
Mount Tenzan is a 1,046.2m high mountain that straddles the cities of Saga, Karatsu, Ogi, and Taku. Located in the center of Saga prefecture, it has a special presence as a mountain of Saga.
In the Saga Plain, the seasonal winds that blow down from Mt. Tianshan in winter are called "Tianshan oroshi." In winter, a ski resort equipped with artificial snow facilities (Tianshan Ski Resort) opens at the northern foot of the mountain, and the snow that accumulates around the peak can be seen from within the city.
