“I discovered that Bushido means dying.”

The emblem-like design is ``The Way of the Samurai is found in death.'' which is an English translation of the Hagakure teachings passed down in the Saga Nabeshima domain, ``Bushido is death and finding.'' At the center of the emblem is the prefecture's bird, the Kachigarasu, guarding the torii gate of Matsubara Shrine.

The phrase "Bushido means dying and finding something" expresses the spirit of Japanese Bushido.

This word expresses the samurai's code of conduct and virtue, and indicates the samurai's values ​​such as mission, loyalty, and courage. In Bushido, ``finding death'' means being prepared to risk life or death, and to be prepared to fight or fulfill one's duty.

In other words, this word emphasizes the importance of self-sacrifice and loyalty in Bushido. Samurai were expected to act in the best possible manner and be prepared to sacrifice their lives for themselves, their families, and their masters.
