商品紹介
西郷隆盛は、明治維新を成し遂げた「維新の三傑」の一人であり、日本史上最も愛されている武士の一人です。薩摩藩（現在の鹿児島県）に生まれ、倒幕運動の指導者として江戸無血開城を実現させるなど、近代日本の夜明けに決定的な役割を果たしました。
「敬天愛人」という言葉を指針とした無私無欲で情に厚い人柄は、今も多くの人々の心を捉えて離しません。最後は西南戦争で命を落としましたが、鹿児島の街を見守る巨大な銅像や、上野公園の像は、日本の変革を支えた巨星の象徴として親しまれています。

Takamori Saigo is one of the "Three Great Nobles of the Restoration" who spearheaded the Meiji Restoration and remains one of the most beloved samurai in Japanese history. Born in the Satsuma Domain (modern-day Kagoshima Prefecture), he played a decisive role in the dawn of modern Japan, most notably leading the movement to overthrow the shogunate and negotiating the bloodless surrender of Edo Castle.
His selfless and compassionate character, guided by the philosophy of "Keiten Aijin" (Revere Heaven, Love People), continues to captivate hearts to this day. Although he lost his life in the Satsuma Rebellion, his legacy lives on through his iconic statues—one looking over the city of Kagoshima and another in Tokyo’s Ueno Park—as symbols of a giant who reshaped a nation.
